William Strader, Head Trainer
I grew up on a farm in North Carolina and developed a fascination for all animals, but especially for my dogs who were my constant companions. After graduating Wake Forest with a BA in Communications, I travelled Latin America for several years and worked with many traumatized dogs among other things. What was a fascination for my dogs in my youth, became a passion for training and behavior modification for dogs struggling to fit into their environment.
I’m an avid outdoorsman and woodworker who is very happy when covered in dirt, dog hair or wood shavings. When I approached Michael & Kim about joining Pampered Puppies, I saw an opportunity to work with a fantastic community strengthening or bridging the gap between owners (parents), kids, and pets. Frankly, I not only enjoy tackling the challenges that each new dog presents, I also feel I’m providing an essential service to the community by equipping dog owners with the tools necessary to become excellent handlers and care givers to their furry family member.
I am recognized by the American Kennel Club (AKC) as a Certified Canine Good Citizen Evaluator. This program is central to our public puppy training curriculum. Secondly, I am also a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT) through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT). This is one of the most prestigious certifications in the dog training industry.
When not working with my canine friends, I most likely can be found woodcarving on my balcony or backpacking with my wife and loyal companion, Valley.
